In Mission/Mars Control, the participants (controllers) send important instructions to their teammates in the spacecraft (astronauts). They also perform interesting computer-based research and analyze the results of the experiments performed by the astronauts. If there is a problem or emergency, the controllers must determine the proper corrective action and pass this on to their teammates in the spacecraft to ensure the mission stays on track. The end result -- a successful mission and increased enthusiasm for science, mathematics, and technology.
